Hello! If you've been confused by the rental oekaki board, this may help...
Remember, oekaki works best in MSIE, and you must have Java ON.

Here's where you get started: Choose how you want to draw and
how large (between 30x30 pixels and 300x300 pixels)

The "watercolor off" oekaki system menus are all in English, so
I'm not going to bother with them here.

The "watercolor on" menus are in Japanese, though...
so let's get started by seeing where your tools are:

Options are listed in order, with default first.

* "Color style option" can be switched between solid color (shown here), water color ("水彩 ")and typable text (A B C)

* Toning options can be switched between screen tone/トーン (1/4 screen dot pattern), shade-off /ぼかし (sort of a blur effect), bleach/漂い (which is like "color dodge" in PhotoShop), and burn/ 焼き(which is like "color burn").

* Shapes you can choose from are solid rectangle, line rectangle, circle, and line circle.

* The effects menu is one I don't use much, but consists of copy (select an area of the image and drag it elsewhere), layer mask (?), soften edges (select an area to blur sharp edges slightly), flip horizontal, flip vertical, and reflect.

* Eraser options consist of the eraser pen/消しペン, eraser square/消し四角, and erase all/全消し, which clears the entire image.

* Drawing style options are freehand/手書き, straight line, and bezier curves/BZ.
*Mask options are: no mask, normal mask on, reverse mask on, and, ahh, two others whose function I can't quite figure out... I've never used them... ^^;

I'm too tired to write any more right now ^^;;
